Lee Central Middle School Counseling Program

 

The school counseling program at LCMS is comprehensive and developmental. The goal is to operate with proactive and preventive measures. All students will receive school counseling instruction and services. The program is based upon the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Program Model. This model addresses academic, career, and social/emotional development.

The mission of the Lee Central Middle School Counseling Program is to work in collaboration with home, school, and community to inspire, prepare, and empower students through a comprehensive, developmental school counseling program through the academic, social/emotional, and career domains that would allow all students to become productive and successful 21st century learners. Our mission supports the core standards of the American School Counselor Association national model, Lee County School District, and Lee Central Middle School.

The students at Lee Central Middle School are creative and collaborative 21st century learners who become career and college ready.   All students are leaders who are prepared to meet the challenges and high expectations of today’s global society.  The students are supported by a comprehensive, developmental school counseling program, with partnerships between the school, family, and community, which helps make them successful, self-directed, life-long learners.

 

 

8th Grade IGP Information

 

At the beginning of second semester, all eighth grade students and their parents meet individually with the Career Specialist to create Individual Graduation Plans (IGP).  During these meetings, the counselors, parents and students discuss grades, career interests and scholarships to begin planning students’ high school course selections in order to help them become college and career ready.
